The Year of the Bible 2019 Daily Bread Make everyday Sunday by reading the Word of God
3rd of Middle Sundays “So they all ate and were filled, and they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments that remained.” (Matthew 14:20) This Sunday we witness divine bounty and generosity. With the Lord, no one goes hungry but all are filled. Though hunger is the reality of the world we live in, Christ promised us that He would not leave us orphans (cf. John 14:18). Indeed, many go hungry and their flesh perishes of starvation but their soul lives forever in eternal bliss with our Lord. For Lazarus desired “to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table,” but later experienced eternal comfort in Abraham’s bosom (Luke 16:21). Regarding the twelve baskets, St. Hilary of Poitiers remarks: “Thus, by the word of God coming from the teaching of the law and the prophets, the multitude was satisfied; and an abundance of divine power, reserved for the Gentiles from the ministry of the eternal food, was left over for the Twelve Apostles.” The leftover baskets symbolize the abundance of grace given by Christ to the Twelve to work miracles and preach.

The 2018 Family Retreat will take place at the Mor Aphrem Center in Paramus, NJ from June 28th until July 1st. The deadline to sign up is June 15th. An immense thank you to all who worked hard on creating this video.
On November 17-18, 2017 The Small Flock of Jesus Christ Bible Study Group went on their first Retreat to SpruceLake Pennsylvania. With H.E. Mor Dionysius John Kawak blessings and the guidance of Very Rev Fr. Andrew Bahhi and Fr. Augin Al-Khouri, many of the Bible Study Group faithfuls had a memorable Retreat and spiritual experience.
